Prusia Forest

 

Cartago is a beautiful province that has different and cheap options to visit.  If you need a place to spend the weekend with your family, with your couple or even to go out with your friends, this is the perfect place to know the Prusia Forest.



 If you live in San José you must take the Florencio del Castillo road towards Cartago, until you reach Tierra Blanca, from here it is 2 kilometers northeast on the road to the Irazu Volcano, take a left junction and continue approximately 4 kilometers.

For this trip it is recommended that you wear comfortable clothes so that you can walk, wearing tennis shoes is essential, bringing water to stay hydrated is also important and do not forget sunscreen.

 The trail that surrounds the forest is approximately 16 km long and is the only park in the GAM that has kilometers of trails.

The “arbol embrujado " is the greatest attraction that this beautiful place has, the name of this tree is due to the fact that once one of the visitors left a figure of a "little witch" hanging and then the other people followed the custom of placing other objects, although today the tree does not preserve them and is totally clean. Another story that is told is that this tree is home to many leprechauns.



Cartago has beautiful places to visit, and this beautiful forest is just one of them.

Ruins of Santiago Apostle

  Also known as the Ruins of Cartago, located in Cartago in the central park. The church was founded between 1577 and 1580, however, as time went by, the building suffered damage from earthquakes. (San Antonio earthquakes on September 2, 1841, and Santa Monica on May 4, 1910).   Cartago is a beautiful city in Costa Rica, located southeast of San José. The city of Cartago owes its name to the ancient North African city of the same name Cartago of the Punic State. Cartago is the second smallest province in the country, after Heredia. Its total area covers an area of ​​3,124.6 km². The population is 515.385 according to the last resources.
